Help Us Honor Our Fallen
Join us for the 3rd Annual laying of wreaths on the final resting places of our veterans. Pine Hill Cemetery has patriots who fought all the way back to the Revolutionary War through the War on Terror. Please help us and donate if you can. Wreaths cost $20 each.
As an extra Thank You we have for donating, we will be raffling off a pair of Celtics Tickets for their Feb. 8th game against the 76ers (LOGE 19). Every $20 you donate will give you 1 ticket in our raffle.
Participate in the Preparation & Wreath Laying
We will be conducting an opening ceremony, a moment of silence and then placing the wreaths. We are asking everyone when placing a wreath to pause, say the name of the patriot and thank them for their sacrifice and service. If you haven’t joined us in the past be prepared to be moved more than you would have imagined.
We always need some friends to show up early to place bows on wreaths. If you can help with this task, please arrive between 9:15am and 9:30am. We do this event rain or shine or snow or sleet ! However, use your good judgement in traveling.
This year we are placing 2,000 wreaths. The first 1,000 wreaths will be placed at Pine Hill and the next 1,000 will be placed at St. Mary’s.
Last year we were able to complete Pine Hill in 40 minutes (in the pouring rain) but we struggled to find volunteers to go down the street (1 mile) to help with St. Mary’s. PLEASE consider scheduling yourself and family for 90 minutes. 45 minutes at each cemetery. However, we are grateful for any donation of time (and funds).
The economy this year has hurt our efforts. Last year we placed 4,000 wreaths but we are struggling to raise the funds to cover 2,000 wreaths. Please buy whatever you can afford. We are dollar in, dollar out…every $20 will buy another wreath. We end the weekend at zero dollars in the bank, all is left on the sites. You do not need to be present if you purchase a wreath, we will lay them in your honor.
